Thomas uses his combination of business and technical experience to manage the marketing side of the business. This includes managing the website, industry events, creating product technical data sheets, online technical content and managing our social media accounts. He has a background in sustainable energy through an MSc in Water, Energy & the Environment and also an MPhil in electric actuator pitch control technology.
What Thomas says:
I arrived at the company in a sales role before leaving to progress my technical knowledge while studying a PhD. Olsen supported me throughout this, and although I didn't complete the PhD I was delighted to rejoin the company in a combined marketing and technical role with an additional Masters qualification to my name. I look after all of the marketing aspects of the business, from the website and social media channels to managing our events. My passion lies in writing technical content and using my academic writing skills to showcase our exciting applications stories in a technical context.
My PhD research was in wind turbine pitch control mechanisms using electrical actuators so I am particularly interested in clean energy projects. One of the best things about working for Olsen is the diversity of applications we work on. I am constantly surprised by new enquiries and enthused by how much crossover there can be between seemingly unrelated industries. The company has grown significantly since I joined and we continue to develop so it is really an exciting time to be involved with Olsen.
Outside of work, I am kept busy by two young children and a growing list of incomplete DIY tasks!
