Process Control Valves

Olsen Actuation have a wealth of expertise in supplying Electric Roller Screw Actuators and electro-mechanical solutions for Process Control applications. Our clients have been able to vastly improve accuracy, repeatability and reliability with significantly reduced maintenance when using our actuator solutions.

Our actuators can be found in a wide range of hostile or challenging environments in Process Control systems that include applications as varied as turbine and valve control, dampers, injection spray valves, pressure control systems and soot blowers.

In these instances, the actuator is the device that brings about linear or rotary movement. When using legacy hydraulic or pneumatic solutions then high energy costs, complex control/programming systems and messy fluid mean an electric solution is often highly preferable.

If there is something you need to move with more reliability, for longer and with significantly reduced maintenance then simply put, we can help find a solution to move it better.

Designed and tailored in the UK but shipped globally, our actuator solutions can incorporate integrated drive electronics, require no pipes or cooling and are incredible lightweight and compact in comparison with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Without the need for large generators and associated equipment, our actuator solutions can be fitted in a modular fashion so can replace or compliment an existing installation.

Electrical actuators deliver a highly accurate level of force and can offer back-drive to offer a highly accurate level of force and position control (with condition monitoring 4.0) to solve some of the most challenging applications. Electrical actuators are also far quieter, making them far more forgiving to an Engineer’s ears!

Our actuator solutions are able to meet specifications including:

  • Milspec COTS, EAR99 750g, -40°C to +70°C
  • Pressure compensation (for subsea)
  • Linear Rotary 2000 kNm
  • 650 bar operating pressures
  • 1 kN to 1500 kN
  • ATEX rated
  • Travel up to 2 metres
  • AC or DC voltage source
  • Cables
  • Servo drive electronics and software integration
  • Multi-axis control synchronisation

The longevity and low maintenance offered through our unique roller screw technology is particularly popular where system failure or downtime can be critical and very costly. A simple to use Windows based interface means the actuators are quick to install, commission and simple to maintain.

The efficiency benefits are also significant. Without the need for messy, leaky and corrosive hydraulic fluids, and with huge operational energy, weight and space savings available, our actuators and solutions are proving even more at home in an increasingly efficiency driven market.
