We were delighted to be able to visit one of our longest-serving customers in Griffon Hoverwork to see our products being fitted to the latest order of the Griffon 12000TD's before the final unit was shipped to Japan.
A team from Olsen made the long trip to the South Coast to visit the impressive manufacturing facility where the final craft on the order is being assembled, and also to see the working craft in Portsmouth and make a trip across the Solent on-board. Unfortunately, the great British weather had other plans and extremely high winds, rough seas and poor visibility meant we couldn't get on board as hoped.
Despite this, the visit to the manufacturing facility in Portchester was excellent and we also had our film crew with us to produce a shiny case study video. So watch this space for the new video coming soon! There was some fantastic testimonial from Paul Newton, who very kindly hosted us on the day.
Once Griffon had decided to move to electrical actuation we worked with them to help integrate our Exlar range from Curtiss-Wright into flight controls (steering and pitch control) as well as access ramps and clamshell (hatch) controls.
Griffon Hoverwork is truly unique and a fantastic asset to UK industry as the sole global manufacturer of commercially available passenger hovercraft. Olsen's relationship with them goes back over a decade and we are proud to feature so prominently on a range of their craft, including the prestigious 12000TD.
