DSEI 2021 was our best yet!
We have been attending DSEI for over 10 years now, and each time we learn more and more, both about the opportunities in the sector and also about the ways we can help our customers.
This year we had two new product ranges to launch, and we were very grateful to have partner representatives joining us from the US.
There was a bit of trepidation leading up to this event, with no one really sure how Covid would affect turnout. The show did seem a little lighter in numbers than normal, and there were a few gaps between stands due to late pull-outs, but conversely, we felt this actually worked in our favour. From the get-go on Tuesday morning we had a buzz of activity around our stand as the working demo's from ANCA Motion®, the new ESI Motion MilSpec Ready Drives and the Curtiss-Wright Nu-Torque Super Compact Marine & Nuclear Valve Actuators created a lot of genuine interest. In fact, the slightly lower footfall seemed to allow for more quality discussions with more critical personnel.
We operate in a wide variety of sectors so industry-specific events allow us a deep foray into the trends, pressures and opportunities in each one. Defence is always an exciting opportunity for us, not least as this attracts engineers and companies from many associated non-defence companies who are already knowledgeable about the types of services and products we supply. We fielded enquiries from Robotics, Aerospace, eVTOL aircraft, E-vehicles to name a few.
In order to manage the workload and demands of a full week’s exhibition, we rotated staff, with pairs travelling down from the office in the North-West. Along with evenings entertaining clients this created a team-building opportunity which was enjoyed by all, and also allowed those who are not always at the coal face to experience meeting some of our customers face to face.
We are now busily responding to enquiries and sending out quotes and product details to all our contacts. We are getting more productive at these shows and will look forward to 2023. Hope to see you there!
