Olsen Actuators attended the Space Comm Expo at Farnborough International Exhibition Centre last week. We sent a delegation last year to scope the event, and the feedback was so good we took our team and a stand down for this year's show. The floor space and attendance were significantly grown from last year's event, and with our space-certified product range, and a new range of rotary encoders to showcase, we had a lot of interest at the stand throughout the show.
With guest speakers including astronaut Tim Peake and TV presenter Dallas Campbell, the show was clearly very popular. To help support, we were pleased to have Ray Stott join us on the stand from our partners at Space Specialists. He has been a great ambassador for our space-ready ranges over the last year, including trips to Australia and East Asia.
Over the last few years, we have significantly grown our product offering in the Space sector. Moving from actuators customised for space, to a range of servo-drives (power electronics) designed specifically for Space, complete with radiation-hardened components and offering the lightest and most compact size-to-power ratios available. These drives are available commercially off-the-shelf (COTS) and can be tailored to suit your needs. It was such a busy show for us, with many leads and enquiries to follow up on in the coming days, but we managed to reward ourselves with a fantastic team meal at the restaurant we use when at the Farnborough International Airshow (we will be in attendance again in 2024).
So if you would like us to pop in for a chat, or would like to call to discuss a Space or any other motion control application, just reach out and get in touch with our friendly team.
