We were very happy to be approached by the University of Liverpool to host a team of delegates from their careers study team at our offices at Sci-Tech Daresbury. They are studying towards an additional module where they can help guide and advise other students as to what skills and experience are required to work in certain roles, and also the type of environments available when working for an SME.
MD Piers Olsen was on hand to show them around the facilities we have at our disposal and they were impressed with the range of opportunities that graduates can find here at Olsen Actuators.
We share their passion for inspiring and helping the next generation of engineers to fulfil their potential and contribute new ideas and practices to the sector. The team of delegates were able to get an understanding of what we do, what skills are required and what we can help teach graduates after and during their academic studies. They can then use this knowledge to advise and guide their students into relevant roles or areas of study.
The team from the University of Liverpool followed up with a thank you letter:
Thank you so much for Friday, we really do appreciate you giving us your time and access to your facilities.
The Student Coaches found the whole day fascinating and now have a clearer picture of what Daresbury has to offer and will now be able to act as your ambassadors, when dealing with the students and graduates who visit the Career Studio, for advice and support in relation to their career choices and also the companies who are based at the Campus, who they can potentially go and work for.
We’ll look forward to working with you all throughout the forthcoming academic year, starting later this month.
Best wishes and once again, thank you so much!
Thank you to you too Liverpool University! It was a pleasure to host you.
